    Ashley Fure (USA)
    
    Ashley Fure (b. 1982) was raised on the shores of Lake Superior in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Currently a doctoral candidate at Harvard University, she holds degrees in composition from Oberlin Conservatory and the Interlochen Arts Academy.  Next fall, Fure relocates to Paris where she will take part in the 2008/09 IRCAM Cursus. Winner of the George Arthur Knight Prize, the Pauline Oliveros Prize, the Blodgett Composition Prize, and the Grand Prize in Composition from Oberlin Conservatory, her music has been featured on NPR's St. Paul Sunday and performed by such ensembles as eighth blackbird, the Arditti Quartet, Esemble SurPlus, and the Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble.  She has worked closely with Lewis Nielson, Chaya Czernowin, Brian Ferneyhough, Helmut Lachenmann, Hans Tutschku, and Joshua Fineberg.
