Hannah Lash (USA) Lash began her musical studies at the age of four. Her composition teachers have included Augusta Read Thomas, Robert Morris, Bernard Rands, and Julian Anderson. She completed her undergraduate degree in composition from the Eastman School of Music. Currently she is a candidate for the Ph.D in composition at Harvard University. Her music has been performed widely, including in such venues as the Chicago Art Institute, Tanglewood Music Center, Harvard University, and on the American Opera Project's stage in New York City. Lash performs on her harp frequently. She is particularly committed to playing and premiering new music, and such composers as Robert Morris have written pieces expressly for her to play. Lash's harp teachers have included Alice Chalifoux, Kathleen Bride, and Yolanda Kondonassis. Lash is currently doing her professional studies in harp performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music where she is a student of Yolanda Kondonassis.
