    Adam Roberts (USA)
    
    Adam Roberts earned a B.M. in composition from the Eastman School of Music, where he studied composition with Augusta Read Thomas, David Liptak, Steven Stucky, Martin Bresnick, and piano with Rebecca Penneys.  He is currently pursuing his PhD in composition at Harvard University, where he has studied with Bernard Rands, Sir Harrison Birtwistle, Chaya Czernowin, Magnus Lindberg, and Julian Anderson.  He has also studied at the Bowdoin Summer Music Festival, June in Buffalo, and Acanthes, during which time he participated in master classes and worked with a wide variety of composers.  Adam has had his music performed by ensembles such as OSSIA, Musica Nova, Alarm Will Sound, and the Arditti String Quartet.  Awards include an ASCAP, the Bernard Rogers Prize, he was a prizewinner in the Willow Flute Ensemble competition, and his piece, Strands, will be performed at the 2007 ISCM world Music Days in Hong Kong.
