    Gabriele Vanoni (Italy)
    
   Gabriele Vanoni was born in Milan in 1980. After a few experiences as a very young composer at Yamaha schools, he began studying piano and composition at the Conservatory of Milan “Giuseppe Verdi,” where he graduated with Maria Isabella De Carli and Giuseppe Giuliano.  Meanwhile, he also graduated in Business for the Arts, Culture and Communication at Bocconi University and completed a Film Scoring Major with Luis Bacalov at the National School of Cinema, in Rome.
He attended Master Classes and courses in Composition and Electronic Music with Ivan Fedele, Azio Corghi, Adriano Guarnieri and Michele Tadini.  He has received awards in national and international competitions, and his works have been performed by various musicians and ensembles, such as Gustav Kuhn, Barrie Webb, Moscow Studio for New Music Ensemble, Divertimento Ensemble, Orchestra Filarmonica del Conservatorio di Milano, Farben Ensemble and Ex Novo Ensemble. He has also composed music for some short films, recorded by Orchestras of various Conservatories.  A number of his piano pieces have been published by Carisch Edition. He’s currently pursuing his PhD in music composition at Harvard University.
